What tires do you like on your offroad 1/10 2wd.
On my xxx-t I run directionals in the front. In the rear I like goose bumps when its dry and studs when its wet. |

Red studs are our go-to tire for buggy and truck. Green compound Goosebumps are usually a pretty good option for a dry and dusty track. At the WWNH track red ifmar pins with bomb 1 foams are really sick if the track is smooth and damp, but not wet. Red directionals are a good choice for truck fronts and red extra wide ribs are really good on 2wd buggy. _________________ MRC/Team Academy

+1 on the studs/directionals.
Razor ribs are also a decent front truck tire for this track but seem to work best paired with fresh ifmar studs or step pins. Directionals feel more balanced when paired with a less agressive rear, like slightly worn studs, goosies or even pins. We've had the best luck overall with Losi red compound (soft) tires here but don't run them on pavement! Pink compound are awesome when it's damp. Proline tires are also good, (edge fronts and step pin rear) but their foams seem to degrade quickly. M3 soft compound is about the same as Losi's red.
As Brandon points out, stiffer foams with soft carcass tires really helps them stick and not deform when cornering. JConcepts white foams are about the same as the Trinity Bomb1 firms. I'm not as happy with the extra firm. they get a little bouncy.
When traction is high - smooth packed track that's slightly damp or not dusty- double-dees or holeshots on all 4 corners can be really good too. They just don't last very long and we haven't had good luck with them when combined with ribbed fronts.
For Buggy I like the Losi red studs and wide ribbed fronts with rear foams packed into them for extra stiffness. On a damp track ifmar pins are usually the ticket for rear as the studs have a tendency to grab and traction roll or take away steering. 2-stage foams also seem to help in the rear tires. |

you guys try bigshots on the buggies? How do they compare to the ifmar pins as far as going through ruts that you are seeing at WWNH track? _________________ --- MRC / Academy --- |

Have not tried bigshots.
We've taken extra time on track prep for this weekend, smoothing out the rain ruts so the track should be pretty smooth, if that helps your decision. It's typically watered between rounds so traction is fairly consistent. |
